This years Ladies Day was held at James Street Church on 12th November 2016. It was very successful as we enjoyed a day of fun, fellowship, worship and several Key Note speakers. Coffee breaks, Dinner and an Afternoon Cream Tea were also part of the Special Ladies Day. Very enjoyable and encouraging.

Rosey Completes Her Ride

Rosey Lock completed her intrepid cycle ride on the Isle of Wight last Sunday.

Her route took her over  45 miles of cycle paths on the island,

Day 1 - Home to Southampton Ferry Port. Cowes to Lake

Day 2 - Lake to Newport

Day 3 - Newport to Cowes

Day 4 - West Cowes to East Cowes and ferry home

The support team included

Sally - Driving us around and checking out good Cafés for Cream Teas

Ian - Mending punctures, navigating and providing local knowlege

Craig - huffing and puffing and pushing

Rosie’s cycle ride

Rosie will be cycling over a lot of the Isle of Wight between the 23rd June and 26th June 2016. She needs support physically and financially. She will be receiving sponsor money for PDSA charity. Ian and Craig will be cycling with her and Sally is her road manager. It is hoped several of you from the church will see her off onto the ferry on the morning of thursday 23rd june and some of you may go over and see her finish on Sunday 26th June.

Charles Wong – speaks to us this morning with an exciting outlook of how we can grasp chances to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Charles compares ‘Faith’ to the element of ‘Risk’ – Every time we speak out (led of The Holy Spirit) God is glorified and we haven’t wasted an opportunity.
May we apply what we have heard today.

Today was our remembrance service, we observed a 2 minute silence to honour the sacrifice our service men and women made in the World Wars, WW1 and WW2. How lovely and poignant that our brother Keith brought his serviceman’s uniform cap to today’s service. Here he is proudly wearing his beret:
